Growing up in Manchester gave easy access to it's rising dance scene, something that the North West of England was renowned for. Inspired by pirate radio and the pioneering sounds of many upcoming DJ's of the time, house music ignited a passion in this feisty northern girl and so Miss Mavrik was born. From this dedication came the idea to invest in some decks. With years of hard work Miss Mavrik never gave up on her pursuit.
Frankie Floorbanger has been djing from the late 1980's playing early house, Acid house & Detriot techno. Spinning at various underground parties in London. In 1990 Frankie blagged his way onto the decks at the legendary south coast club Sterns-Interdance. Here we go ...way back in 1982 I was a 12 yr old kid who came across a musical revelation GRANDMASTER FLASH, I saw this guy cutting up 2 copies of the same drum break in an old 70s funk tune, and he was making his own tune with just 2 turntables and a mixer...that was all I needed to see.the next year was a time of pleading and begging lol.then finnally i got my first decks and a mixer and was cutting and scratching those same breaks, going up to groove records at 52 greek st w1 and spending every penny i had on records...i played at a few early hip hop jams alongside the likes of richie rich/cutmaster swift and dj dexter in ladboke grove, westbourne park and other various london post codes then the acid house scene exploding in london and i progressed onwards and upwards playing with the likes of DJ HARVEY from the tonka sound system doing gigs at zap club and the infamous after parties at black rock beach in brighton..Then around 1990/01 it was the turn of JUNGLE which I embraced and before long I was playing in front of 3,000 people upwards with the likes of Kenny ken/Randall/frost/to name a few this went on for a few years and then it was time for a change again this time I was kinder going back to my roots as I was playing r/n/b 90s soul and mid to late 90s hip hop at various joints i.e. gass club/spatts/lavish in Liverpool street then we come to the year 2004 and I met a new goddess named soulful house the rest is taking me right up to the current day I
My love for music started long ago peeping into parties by others older than me. Started with love for soul then moved up to the UK house scene in the late 80
Born in Portugal in 1979, Dj Speed has his first contact with music very young. His first contact with electronic music emerges as a fun thing to do playing at parties with friends but in the year of 2000 start as a professional.
In 2001 with a business of their own could assert himself with his good disposition and crazy and exciting bars and clubs in Portugal as a freelancer. In early 2006 gets the residence in the better bar of Torres Novas where he was staying until embraced a new project, the Seven Club as responsible for the command of the cabin. In March 2009 he joined the agency Cool Emotions. He demands electronic sounds into their different styles, always thinking in a good mood and fun track. Dj Speed awakened in him a talent that is still much promise, has been improving and has struggled ever since to continue to play to animate all the party people. At the end of November Dj Speed left the seven and the cool-emotions and follows a different path from the residence in a house.
In September he joined the company organizing the event Total Fun Spring Break Festival and dedicated to products and services in several areas aimed at the segment target of young students and seniors, including Tourism, Events, Entertainment, and Marketing & Communications With the company Total Fun went as resident for Spring travel to Ibiza and played in the best bars such as Linekers, Plastik and Nassau Beach club. In September 2012 he moved to London where it begins to take its first steps in this country.
I am a new DJ and just finished my 1st year, I started learning in El Prevost & W Beeza's DJ booth at their south London studio.
Mainly I play underground tech house music with a mixture of other house music genres, and I like to try new sounds that test the waters! This is my new home station and it's a privilege to be on here... Let the games begin!
Bio to come
Instead of a winter of eating too much and barely riding, the Elitecycling turbo sessions gave me something to look forward to every week and not only kept my legs ticking over but got massively improved my strength and technique. Combined with a fitness test from Paul, advice on base training and led rides by Paul and Glen for women riders through the winter months, I started 2013 fitter, stronger and motivated than I have ever been on a bike. Both Paul and Glen have a great insight in how to get the best of people which has carried on throughout the season and I am proud to race under the Elitecycling name.
I didn't know what to expect when signing up for the sessions but have absolutely loved them. Paul balances encouragement and pushing yourself really well. I've seen improvement over the first 5 weeks and have signed up for more!
Hi Paul Just wanted to write you a quick note to say thank you. The sessions were hard but I really felt like I not only gained some thing from doing them but I learnt a lot about how to change my technique in general. It is such a fun friendly atmosphere where everyone works hard but enjoys themselves at the same time. Please make sure you let me know when the next sessions are I will 100% be back
