FAQ
1. Do I need a professional bike fit?
A professional bike fit is about much more than simply adjusting your saddle height. It looks at your cycling position, how your body interacts with the bike, and how your bike can be set up to improve comfort, efficiency and performance.
If you're experiencing knee pain when cycling, back or neck discomfort, numb hands, saddle discomfort, or simply feel that you are not quite comfortable on your bike, a professional bike fitting can identify where adjustments may help.
A bike fit can also be valuable if you're looking to improve your cycling performance, ride longer distances, or get more comfortable and efficient on the bike.
2. Can a bike fit help with pain or discomfort when cycling?
Yes. Knee pain when cycling, lower-back pain, neck and shoulder discomfort, numb hands and saddle discomfort can sometimes be related to your riding position or how your bike is set up.
During a bike fit, we assess the relationship between you and your bike, looking at areas such as saddle height, saddle position, cleat position, handlebar reach and overall cycling position.
Every rider is different, so the aim isn't to force you into a particular position. It's to find a position that works with your body, your flexibility, your riding style and what you want to achieve on the bike.
3. What can cycling coaching help me achieve?
Cycling coaching gives you a structured and personalised approach to improving your riding. Whether you want to get faster on the bike, improve your cycling fitness, build endurance, lose some of the guesswork from your training or simply feel stronger and more confident, coaching can help.
Your training should reflect your life as well as your goals. That's why a personalised cycling training plan takes into account your available time, current fitness, experience and the demands of the event or challenge you're preparing for.
Good coaching isn't about simply doing more miles. It's about making the right training work for you, with the right balance of training, recovery and progression.
4. Can cycling coaching help me if I'm training for a specific event?
Absolutely. Cycling coaching can be structured around almost any cycling goal, whether you're training for a sportive, cycling event, cycling holiday, time trial, endurance challenge, race or personal target.
Having a coach means your cycling training plan can be built around the demands of your particular event. We can work on the fitness, endurance, pacing and confidence you'll need, while making sure your training fits around your work, family and everyday life.
Having been involved in cycling and events ourselves, we understand that preparation isn't only about fitness. Knowing what to expect and arriving at the start line feeling prepared can make a huge difference to your experience.
5. Do I need to be an experienced cyclist to have a cycling coach?
Not at all. Cycling coaching isn't just for experienced riders or competitive cyclists. It can be just as valuable if you're relatively new to cycling, returning after a break, or working towards your first sportive or long-distance cycling event.
A good coach starts with where you are now and builds from there. Your personalised training plan will be based on your current fitness, experience, available time and individual goals.
Whether your aim is to get fitter on the bike, ride further, become more confident, improve your performance or simply enjoy your cycling more, coaching gives you structure, support and someone in your corner throughout the journey.

Cleat and Footbed Fitting Service
If you are setting up your shoes for the first time or if you are just not sure if the cleats are in the correct position then this service is perfect for you. I will assess your shoes, your foot flexibility and check your medial arch profile to enable me to position your foot in such a way as to stabilise the foot and increase power without discomfort. Generally cycling shoes offer very little medial arch support so I will measure this to see if a footbed is required.
